The Pax Dei team has developed a new blog post called “Path of the Adventurer” where they discussed their plans on modifying the crafting system in the open world MMORPGs with survival mechanics.
The developers defined four core principles to achieve: “ease of learning,” “meaningful complexity instead of confusion,” “logical relationships,” and “optimal pacing.” They have sculpted a guiding ideology for crafting which preserves freedom and creativity throughout the game while avoiding contrived depth.
The changes will be noticed in the details of the systems especially in tailoring, leatherworking, and blacksmithing. These crafts will become more specialized towards equipment fabrication for combat roles. There will be additional novel prerequisite materials which will be assimilated into the revised multi-tiered equipment system. Players will have access to more advanced tools and greater flexibility in modifying equipment.
The modifications tell in the official statement changes of such magnitude accompany the total wipe of the game data indicating how crucial these shifts are to the project.
