The new Fable confidently took first place in the ranking of the most anticipated games for Xbox, ahead of such major franchises as Gears of War and Perfect Dark. ResetEra’s poll indicates that more than 36% of participants are excited for the cult RPG installment.
Perfect Dark managed to secure the second place by getting 23% of votes. Fable’s Gears of War: E-Day rounded off the top three with just over 14%. Other projects, alongside State of Decay and The Outer Worlds 2, paled in comparison to the top contenders.
Playground Games, the studio behind Forza Horizon, is responsible for developing the game. Its release was earlier set for 2025 but is now expected in 2026. Xbox officials maintain that this additional time of development will be beneficial for the game.
Based on the materials provided, it seems the new Fable manages to capture the spirit of the original game while incorporating modern advancements. The series staples will be included, but with a fresh look. Fans are looking forward to once again visiting the enchanting realm of Albion. From the looks of the trailers, the world of Albion still has its magical essence, but has been updated technologically.
